October Forecast

If it’s a rainy day:

  • Play active indoor games like Hide and Seek, or Tag – it’s a fun way to chase away those rainy days.
  • Let them jump in the puddles – splashing around will get their legs bending and stretching.
  • Build an indoor obstacle course with household items – the kids can race their way to a healthy heart.
  • Turn on some music – dancing around will play out their muscles and pump up their heart and lungs.

If it’s a sunny day:

  • Rake in the leaves – not only is it piles of fun, it stretches their muscles and burns lots of energy.
  • Play catch – it will get their arms moving and they’ll have a ball running around.
  • Take the dog for an extra long walk - it will step up their legs, lungs and heart, and the dogs’ too.
  • Go for a swim – jumping into a pool and splashing around will work all of their muscles, including their heart.

If it’s a windy day:

  • Fly a kite – the kids will be able to run like the wind and stretch their arms too.
  • Make flags with old pillowcases – you can watch them flap in the wind afterwards and the kids’ creativity will blow you away.
  • Make paper airplanes with old newspapers – the kids can take off after them and keep their legs, lungs and heart in shape.
  • Make a cape from a bed sheet or blanket – instantly your kids will become superheroes that can run in the yard all day, working their heart and lungs at warp speed.
